The purpose of this program is to explore motivation and how it affects exercise adherence, to understand the reasons people cite for not exercising and how we can change perception, and to learn strategies to improve exercise adherence. The goal is to help our clients comply to prescribed programming and successfully attain their goals.

Angie Miller, MS, LPC Angie Miller, MS, LPC

Angie Miller, M.S., LPC, is a health and fitness speaker, educator, and Licensed Professional Counselor who blends her expertise to empower individuals of all ages through exercise, education, and mental health strategies. Angie works as a therapist for Innovative Counseling Partners and teaches at Northern Illinois University in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Through her work, Angie has been invited to speak at mental health and fitness conferences throughout the United States and abroad. There she presents on a variety of topics that range from exercise education, to motivation, meditation, stress management, and positive behavior change. Angie also leads industry trainings as a Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the Athletics and Fitness Association of America, and Kettlebell Concepts. Passionate about building communities through her teaching, Angie produces fitness DVD’s that help individuals discover their potential through movement and exercise. She writes for fitness journals, digital media companies, and publishes a weekly blog where she covers fitness and lifestyle topics.
